In Times of Turmoil

by Shea Bell

In politics, lack of vision, division, and strife expose a world desperately in need of a re-set. My hope is this unthinkable chaos will turn over enough rocks to expose the pool of infection that is contaminating our lives and for folks to finally see what is going on and do something about it.

However, if there is also heartbreak and stress in our personal lives, clear thinking may be impossible without help, and to realize we are not alone is the blessing. Sharing those deep seated worries, confusion or shame with a trusted dear one, or handing it over to a Higher Power, is how challenges are transposed into personal awareness and empowerment. We are all humans, with a checkerboard past, and need only sit with the knowing we are all loved to find respite from the pain.

There must be awareness of outdated beliefs and systems, both personally and with those in charge. The Government has demonstrated it does not have effective checks and balances. Notice if hopeless thoughts are affecting your well-being. Nothing good will grow in darkness.

So, what can we do? Do not underestimate the power of an email to your government representative if you are angry or have questions, or simply wish to express yourself.  This is the freedom of democracy, as is the right to VOTE. There has never been a more crucial time for the masses to thoughtfully perform this duty.

We must focus on what we want in our lives, for humanity, and for the planet, and do something. Every small step matters. We are blessed equally with this opportunity and responsibility.

Some of us may be paralyzed by the fear of the current state of affairs at home and around the world. This stuckness does not create change, but it is a point of pause as well as an opportunity to make different choices.  See that.  We are not helpless. It’s time now to examine our mindset and notice that there actually is a crack of light waving madly for attention, even in the darkest moments. That one awareness can deliver us out of unproductive, negative thinking and spark action.

Take a few minutes each day to imagine what it is you want then hold it close, as Esther Hicks says, for at least 17 seconds.  From this act, pure positive energy will manifest, for whatever it is you desire.

Globally we are at a threshold, a tipping point, where we can each choose how we want our future to be, choose loving thoughts and actions or continue to tolerate the status quo. This applies equally at home.

Simple acts are within our power, like keeping a smile on our faces, offering help to someone for no return, and sharing love however we are able. Perhaps there is space in our lives to add in one more act of love. We can also care for our planet by doing simple things like collecting garbage on our pass down the beach.

It’s really that easy. Find something that works for you.  We each have unique interests, talents, and spheres of influence. There are countless ways to make a difference.

Try one thing and feel your spirits lift.  After a bit it becomes a habit, and renewed hope will inspire. As your personal energy rises there is less and less room for negative thinking. Find your own ray of light in the turmoil. It’s there.

This morning I count my blessings and hold hope in my heart for a more loving and kind world; not passive hope that blinds and deludes, rather active hope that inspires and motivates.

Be well. I would love to hear from you. Please scroll to the bottom to leave some thoughts.

Important thoughts in there, “Admin”. ?
So many of those in positions of trust are content to cheat, lie, and betray that trust in order to obtain personal or political advantage, no matter the cost to society or our planet. Mad King Donald and his toadie McConnell come to mind. Remaining positive has never been more difficult, but working for change has never been more important.

Well said. I ask myself what more can I do?

All we sentient mammals wonder about that, so you’re in good company.
By publishing wise thoughts like these you’re doing much more than most. Those who disagree with us are not our enemies; the real enemy is willful ignorance.

Yes, let’s talk about it, notice and be aware, do what each of us can, which includes coaching our children and grandchildren towards right thinking. There’s no more time for willful ignorance. Thanks for your thoughts.
