As the world swirls and twists with turmoil beyond comprehension, the shock and trauma of these times we live in cannot be underestimated.
The truth is, nothing is as it was, and perhaps that’s a good thing. This current reality will pass, but life on the other side is up to each one of us to create.
We all know our progress through life is not a straight line. So, feeling off, I picked up some pencil crayons and started to draw. Since I’m not an artist, the ruler is often my friend, and out came some gorgeous straight lines. To my delight, this diagram revealed a message and inspired this post. I wasn’t thinking about being lined up, but clearly I wasn’t. And was it as bad as it looked?
When I draw, I shut down the critic and allow inspiration to move through me. There is no pressure to be an artist. I’m never quite sure of how it will turn out, or what the message will be, but I know there will be one.
It’s like sitting down with a journal, with no particular goal other than to allow uncensored words to leave the brain. After a page or so of sometimes pretty boring stuff, the meat becomes matter.
